Suicide is the second leading cause of death in children 10–14 years old. Little Otter, a specialty pediatric and whole family mental health company, shares its data on 1,434 children ages 3 to 14 years old who completed a developmentally-sensitive, two-stage screening for suicide risk and received mental health treatment. These data prove that very young children experience suicidal thoughts and behaviors at rates similar to teenagers and adults.
